Gwen Drenick, MPH, CHES is the Director of the Community Alliance Network (CAN) for the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence - Orange County (NCADD-OC). Ms. Drenick directs staff and leads collaborative planning activities and educational programs to reduce the prevalence of ATOD-related problems in communities throughout Orange County. Ms. Drenick graduated from California State University, Long Beach with her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, and earned her Master of Public Health from the University Of California, Los Angeles and is certified as a Health Education Specialist. With CAN since 2001, Ms. Drenick has served as Associate Director and Program Manager for the Tobacco Free Communities project and assumed the position of Director in fall of 2005. She is Co-Chair of the Orange County Tobacco Education Coalition, sits on the Dana Point Charitable Grant Subcommittee and is Chair of the Orange County Methamphetamine Task Force and also serves on the Board of the Southern California Chapter of Society for Public Health Education. Underage Drinking Prevention Project

 

Monica Venable is a health educator for the Underage Drinking Prevention Project of Orange County where she is currently focusing her prevention efforts in the City of Newport Beach.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Fullerton in Health Science.  Monica has been with CAN as a Health Educator for over four years.  She is a member of the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California (LCHC), the Faith Coalition and the Orange County DUI Task Force Coalition where she participates as a certified Responsible Beverage Service trainer.  She is also bilingual in both Spanish and English and provides bilingual educational services for the community.   For more information call  949.595.2288 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Tiffany McCune is the Program Coordinator for the Tobacco Prevention and Cessation (TPC) project in the cities of San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano. Tondra Cicali is a Health Educator for the TPC project. She graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. Tondra former teacher who has 16 years experience working with youth in Orange County. She is working to accomplish CAN's goals of encouraging local teens to avoid tobacco use through education and prevention strategies. Tondra is using her background in education and experience with children and adults together with the Tobacco Prevention and Cessation project to create healthier young adults in our local community. Tobacco Cessation

 

Leila Esfandiari, MPH, is the Program Coordinator for TPC Cessation working closely with a dedicated team of cessation counselors providing tobacco cessation services for the TPC project throughout South Orange County. She received her Bachelor Degree in Environmental Analysis and Design with a minor in Epidemiology and Public Health at University of California, Irvine and graduated with a Master of Public Health- Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from California State University, Fullerton. Leila is a member of the Health Science Honor Society, Eta Sigma Gamma, American Public Health Association (APHA), and Southern California Society for Public Health Education (SCSOPHE) and the Orange County Tobacco Education Coalition. Leila is a certified yoga instructor with the National Yoga Institute and she incorporates Yoga Breathing Techniques in her tobacco prevention and cessation classes and seminars. Tobacco Intervention Program
 

Marianne Mullen is a Health Educator for the Tobacco Intervention Project Orange County.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Long Beach State University in Health Science.  Marianne has over 20 years experience working in the ATOD prevention field.  She was the owner, author and editor of the ADAM (Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health) Resource Directory for 14 years.  The TIPOC Project works with businesses, restaurants and multiple unit housing complexes to reduce secondhand smoke exposure.  Her current work includes increasing awareness of the health risks of secondhand smoke and the benefits of protecting residents from secondhand smoke, focusing on the cities of Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and San Juan Capistrano.  Marianne is a member of the Secondhand Smoke Work Group for the Orange County Tobacco Education Coalition, South Orange County Chamber, Lake Forest Chamber and San Juan Chamber.  To contact Marianne, please call  949.595.2288 ext. 316 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
